1. Overview

Kerados ("we," "us," "our") is committed to your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect (and don't collect) when you visit this website or use the Kerados desktop application.

In short: this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, and the desktop app does all its processing on your device. The only personal data we ever hold is what you choose to send us — for example, your email address if you contact us or sign up for launch notifications.

2. Website Data Collection

Browsing this website does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

No cookies or similar tracking technologies are used
No analytics or tracking scripts are loaded
No forms collect personal information other than the optional launch notification signup (see Section 8)
No IP addresses are logged by us
No user accounts or logins exist

2b. Future Purchase & Licensing Data

When purchasing becomes available, Kerados will use Lemon Squeezy as its Merchant of Record (MoR) for payment processing. At that time, the following data may be collected and processed by Lemon Squeezy on our behalf:

Email address (for license delivery and purchase receipts)
Name and billing information (as required for payment processing)
License key and activation date

The Kerados desktop application may periodically validate your license key against Lemon Squeezy's licensing API. This validation transmits only your license key and machine identifier — no personal data, usage data, or file contents are sent.

Lemon Squeezy's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

3. Desktop Application

The Kerados desktop application processes all data locally on your device. Specifically:

No video, image, audio, or personal data is transmitted to Kerados servers or any third party
All AI processing (video indexing, face recognition, semantic search, visual similarity, and local speech-to-text transcription of your videos' audio) runs entirely on your local GPU
No telemetry, crash reports, or usage analytics are collected
Your indexed data remains on your device under your full control

4. Biometric Data Processing

The Kerados desktop application includes facial detection and recognition features. The following applies to all biometric data processing:

Local processing only: All facial detection, recognition, and clustering is performed entirely on your local device. No biometric data, facial templates, or facial geometry data is ever transmitted to Kerados servers or any third party.
No collection or storage by Kerados: Kerados does not collect, receive, store, or have access to any biometric data generated by the Software. All such data exists solely on your device under your control.
User responsibility: You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable biometric data laws in your jurisdiction when using facial recognition features, including obtaining any required consent from individuals whose faces appear in your videos.
Applicable regulations: Biometric data may be subject to special protections under applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 9, the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) biometric data provisions, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and similar laws in other jurisdictions.

5. Cookies

We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies on this website. No cookie consent is needed because no cookies are set.

6. Third-Party Services

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process minimal technical data (such as IP addresses) as part of their CDN infrastructure to deliver this website. This processing is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to this data.

Cloudflare acts as a data processor for the delivery of this website. Their Data Processing Addendum is available at https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/.

When purchasing becomes available, Lemon Squeezy will serve as our Merchant of Record and payment processor. Lemon Squeezy will process your payment and billing data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

7. Email Contact

If you contact us via email at contact@kerados.com, we may retain that correspondence to respond to your inquiry. No automated data processing occurs on email communications.

8. Launch Notification Signup

Our website offers an optional email signup form so you can be notified when Kerados is available for download. If you choose to sign up:

Data collected: Only your email address. No account is created, and no other personal information is collected.
Purpose: Your email is used solely to send you a launch notification and occasional pre-launch product updates.
Processing: The signup form is processed and stored securely on Cloudflare's infrastructure (the same platform that hosts this website). No third-party form services are used. Cloudflare's privacy practices are governed by their Privacy Policy.
No sharing or selling: Your email address is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than Kerados product updates.
Removal: You can request removal at any time by emailing contact@kerados.com. We will remove your email within 7 days of your request.
Retention: Notification signup emails are retained until the launch notification has been sent, then deleted within 30 days for non-customers.

This signup is entirely voluntary. You are not required to provide your email to use Kerados once it becomes available.

9. Data Retention

Email correspondence is retained for up to 12 months after the last communication, after which it is deleted.

When purchasing becomes available, the following retention periods will apply:

Purchase records and invoices: retained as required by applicable tax and commercial law (typically 7–10 years)
License and account information: Retained for as long as your license remains valid. You may request deletion at any time by contacting contact@kerados.com; we will comply within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
Billing information: processed and retained by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their data retention policies

Notification signup emails are retained as described in Section 8.

At present, since no purchases or licensing are available, the only personal data we may hold is voluntary email correspondence and optional notification signup emails.

10. Children's Privacy

Kerados is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

All Users

If you have emailed us and wish to have that correspondence deleted, contact us at contact@kerados.com and we will comply promptly. Since we do not currently collect any other personal data through this website, there is no additional personal data to access, correct, or delete.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@kerados.com.

California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@kerados.com.

Israeli Residents (Protection of Privacy Law)

Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of personal data held about you. Since Kerados does not currently collect personal data through this website, these rights are applicable only to voluntary email correspondence. To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@kerados.com.

We will respond to all verifiable requests within 30 days (or within the timeframe required by applicable law).

12. International Data Transfers

Kerados is operated from Israel. If you contact us by email or, in the future, make a purchase, your data may be processed in Israel. Israel has received an adequacy decision from the European Commission, meaning it is recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection.

Where required by GDPR or other applicable law, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where necessary.

13. Future Changes

If we add analytics or additional data collection features beyond what is described in this policy, this Privacy Policy will be updated, and a cookie consent banner will be added where required by law.
